The Surrey White Rock Ringette Association has been busy this week preparing for and hosting an information booth at the Surrey Vaisakhi Festival. The festival sees thousands of festival-goers out parading and celebrating the spring harvest celebration, a tradition for many with heritage from the Punjab and Northern regions of India.
SWRRA handed out swag such as bandanas, stickers, and information sheets that LMRL had translated into Hindi and Punjabi recently.
The Lower Mainland Ringette League gratefully acknowledges that it operates on the unceded traditional homelands of many Coast Salish communities including the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, Tsawwassen, Semiahmoo, Matsqui, Kwikwetlem, Qayqayt, Katzie, Kwantlen, Sumas, Sto:lo, and Pil'alt.
